James Stewart
James Maitland Stewart, known as Jimmy Stewart, was an iconic American actor renowned for his everyman persona and portrayals of diffident yet morally resolute characters in over 80 films from 1935 to 1991. Born in Indiana, Pennsylvania, he began his career on Broadway before signing with MGM in 1935, starring in classics like Mr. Smith Goes to Washington and It's a Wonderful Life, and winning an Academy Award for Best Actor for The Philadelphia Story in 1940. He also served as a military aviator during World War II and continued acting into the 1990s until his death in 1997.[1][2][4]
