James Saxon Childers

James Saxon Childers (1899–1965) was a prolific Birmingham-born American author, educator, and newspaperman known for his travel writing, fiction, and nonfiction, including the novel 'A Novel About a White Man and a Black Man in the Deep South.' He served in the military during both World Wars, taught for nearly 20 years at Birmingham-Southern College, and wrote for the Birmingham News and Atlanta Journal.
