James McBride
James McBride is an acclaimed American author and musician born in Brooklyn, New York on September 11, 1957. He is best known for his bestselling memoir 'The Color of Water' (1996) and his National Book Award-winning novel 'The Good Lord Bird' (2013). A recipient of the National Humanities Medal in 2016, McBride is recognized for his humanizing exploration of race and American identity through both autobiographical and historical fiction works.
