James Kochalka

James Kochalka is an American comic book artist, writer, animator, and rock musician born in Springfield, Vermont, known for his autobiographical comics that blend the real and surreal. Since the early 1980s, he has created iconic indie comics and punk rock music, earning multiple prestigious awards including two Eisner Awards. He was appointed Vermont's first cartoonist laureate in 2011 and is best known for works including the webcomic American Elf, the Johnny Boo series, and Dragon Puncher.
