James Kaplan

James Kaplan is an American author, novelist, and nonfiction writer who has been producing biography, journalism, and fiction for over four decades. His notable works include the bestselling Sinatra biographies *Frank: The Voice* (2010) and *Sinatra: The Chairman*, collaborations like John McEnroe's *You Cannot Be Serious* and Jerry Lewis's *Dean & Me*, novels such as *Pearl's Progress* (1989) and *Two Guys from Verona* (1998), and his recent book *3 Shades of Blue* on Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and Bill Evans. He sold his first short story to *The New Yorker* at age 23 and lives in Westchester, New York.
