James Dickey

James Dickey was an American poet and novelist, best known for his novel 'Deliverance' (1970), which was adapted into a critically acclaimed film. He served in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II and later taught at several universities, including San Francisco State University and the University of South Carolina. His poetry collections, such as 'Buckdancer's Choice' and 'Helmets,' earned him the National Book Award for Poetry in 1966.
