James Dean (Author, Illustrator)

James Dean is a self-taught artist and creator of the beloved Pete the Cat children's book series. Originally from Fort Payne, Alabama, Dean earned a degree in electrical engineering and worked for Georgia Power before pursuing art full-time in the late 1990s. He created Pete the Cat around 1999 and has since co-authored and illustrated over 70 Pete the Cat books, many of which became New York Times bestsellers.
