James Cowles Prichard

James Cowles Prichard was a British physician, ethnologist, and early anthropologist who is remembered for influential work on the unity of humankind and for major writings on physical anthropology and psychiatry. He also contributed to the study of mental illness, including helping introduce the term "senile dementia" and developing the concept of "moral insanity."
