James Clavell
James Clavell was a British-American writer, filmmaker, and World War II veteran best known for his Asian Saga novels, particularly Shōgun (1975), which became an international bestseller. He also achieved success as a screenwriter, penning scripts for films including The Great Escape and To Sir, with Love, and won a Writers Guild Best Screenplay Award in 1963.
