James Beattie

James Beattie was a Scottish poet, essayist, moralist, and philosopher born in Laurencekirk, Scotland, in 1735. He is best known for *The Minstrel* and *An Essay on the Nature and Immutability of Truth*, both of which helped shape early Romantic-era thought.[1][2]
