Jacob Paul Tapper is an award-winning American journalist, author, and cartoonist born in Philadelphia. He serves as Chief Washington Correspondent for CNN, hosting the weekday news program The Lead with Jake Tapper and the Sunday morning show State of the Union. Beyond his journalism career, Tapper has authored several bestselling books including The Outpost: An Untold Story of American Valor and the historical fiction thriller The Devil May Dance.
