Jack Perkins
Jack Perkins was an American reporter, commentator, war correspondent, and anchorman, best known for his work as a correspondent for NBC News and host of A&E's 'Biography' series, earning the title 'America's most literate correspondent' from the Associated Press[2][1]. In 1986, at age 52, he retired from television and moved with his wife Mary Jo to an uninhabited island off Maine's coast called Moosewood, where he pursued poetry, photography, and chronicled his spiritual awakening in the memoir 'Finding Moosewood, Finding God'[3][1]. Later, he and his wife lived on an island off Florida's west coast[1][2].
