Jack Copeland

Brian Jack Copeland (born 1950) is a Distinguished Professor of Philosophy at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand, where he serves as Director of the Turing Archive for the History of Computing. A Londoner by birth, he earned his doctorate in mathematical logic at Oxford University under supervisors including Dana Scott, Robin Gandy, and Simon Blackburn. Copeland is renowned for his authorship on computing pioneer Alan Turing and has held visiting positions at institutions like Georgetown University and Boston University.
