J. Michael Taylor

Michael Hugh Taylor is a historian and former Irish first-class cricketer born in Ballymena, County Antrim. He has written popular books on nineteenth-century history, including works on American diplomacy, British slavery abolition, and the scientific debates surrounding prehistoric fossil discoveries in the early 19th century. His book 'The Interest: How the British Establishment Resisted the Abolition of Slavery' was shortlisted for the Orwell Prize in 2021.
