J M Roberts

J. M. Roberts (John Morris Roberts, 1928–2003) was a British historian, television presenter, and author known for major works such as The Penguin History of the World and The Triumph of the West. He served as vice chancellor of the University of Southampton from 1979 to 1985 and later as warden of Merton College, Oxford, from 1985 to 1994.
