Institution of Electrical Engineers
The Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE) was a British professional engineering institution founded in 1887 and incorporated in 1889 as the leading body representing electrical engineers in England.[3] It began as the Society of Telegraph Engineers in 1871, was renamed several times as electrical technology evolved, and later merged in 2006 with the Institution of Incorporated Engineers to form the Institution of Engineering and Technology.[3]
