Ian Heywood

Ian Heywood is an art theorist and academic who studied painting at Maidstone College of Art and sociology and social theory at Goldsmiths’ College. He completed his doctoral thesis at the University of York, later published as *Social Theories of Art: A Critique*, and has taught art theory and related subjects at Leeds Polytechnic and Lancaster University. He has published widely on art theory, visual culture, art education, and leisure studies.[1]
