Ian F W Beckett

Ian F. W. Beckett is a retired Professor of Military History from the University of Kent, where he held the position until 2015. He previously served as Senior Lecturer at Sandhurst, worked in university administration and strategy roles including at the US Naval War College and Marine Corps University, and held chairs at institutions such as the University of Northampton and University College Northampton. A Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, he has authored works on military history including The Great War 1914-1918, Ypres: The First Battle 1914, and A British Profession of Arms.[1][2][3][4]
