Iamblichus the Neo-Platonist

Iamblichus (c. 245–325 CE) was a Syrian Arab Neoplatonist philosopher who founded the Syrian branch of Neoplatonism and fundamentally transformed the philosophical school initiated by Plotinus. He established a school in Apamea around 304 CE and is credited with integrating Pythagoreanism, Aristotle, and theurgy (ritual magic) into Neoplatonic philosophy, creating a comprehensive pagan theological system that influenced later philosophers like Proclus and shaped late antique Platonism.
