Hyang-an Kim
Hyang-an Kim (Byun Dong-rim, 1916–2004) was a Korean writer and artist who married painter Kim Whanki in 1944, adopting his art name Hyang-an upon marriage despite family objections. She provided unwavering support for his career, joining him in New York in 1964 and later establishing the Whanki Foundation in 1978 and the Whanki Museum in 1992. Known for her surreal and dreamy oil paintings, such as those in the 'Souvenire de Paris' series, she also studied art criticism in Paris and promoted young artists posthumously.
