Hugh Walpole
Sir Hugh Seymour Walpole (1884–1941) was a New Zealand-born English novelist and prolific writer who achieved bestselling status in the 1920s and 1930s. Known for his vivid plots, skill at scene-setting, and romantic fiction, he published thirty-six novels, five volumes of short stories, two plays, and three volumes of memoirs, with his most famous work being the Herries Chronicle series set in the Lake District.
