Hugh Sockett

Hugh Sockett is a professor emeritus of policy and government at George Mason University’s Schar School of Policy and Government. He earned a PhD in philosophy of education from the University of London, taught in London, Cambridge, and Northern Ireland, and later founded the Institute for Educational Transformation at George Mason University. His work focuses on education, virtue ethics, and the relationship between knowledge and professional teaching.
