Hugh Matthews

Hugh Matthews is a pseudonym used by Canadian author Matthew Hughes (born 1949), who primarily writes science fiction as Matthew Hughes, crime fiction as Matt Hughes, and media tie-ins as Hugh Matthews. Born in Liverpool, England, and raised in Canada, he began publishing short crime fiction in the early 1980s and later gained recognition for his fantasy works like the Archonate sequence. Hughes has authored over twenty novels and numerous short stories appearing in magazines such as Asimov's Science Fiction and The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction.
