Hugh Auchincloss Brown

Hugh Auchincloss Brown (1879–1975) was an electrical engineer best known for advancing a theory of catastrophic pole shift. He claimed that massive accumulation of ice at the poles caused recurring tipping of the Earth's axis in cycles of approximately 4000–7500 years, and suggested using nuclear explosions to break up polar ice to prevent catastrophe.
