Huda Smitshuijzen AbiFarès

Huda Smitshuijzen AbiFarès is a Lebanese typographer, writer, researcher, graphic designer, lecturer, and design consultant born in Beirut in 1965. She is the founding director of the Khatt Foundation and Khatt Books in Amsterdam, specializing in Arabic and multilingual typography, with degrees from Rhode Island School of Design (BFA, 1987), Yale University (MFA, 1990), and Leiden University (PhD, 2017). She has authored seminal books on Arabic typography and design history, and works as an independent curator, researcher, writer, designer, and publisher.[1][2][3][4][5][6]
