Howard Simons

Howard Simons (1929-1989) was a prominent American journalist who served as managing editor of The Washington Post during the Watergate scandal, overseeing the Pulitzer Prize-winning coverage that led to President Richard Nixon's resignation. Born in Albany, New York, to a Polish cobbler, he graduated from Union College and earned a master's in journalism from Columbia University, beginning his career as a science writer before rising to editorial leadership. Later, he became curator of the Nieman Foundation at Harvard and co-authored books including novels and works on media and law.
