Honnor Morten
Violet Honnor Morten (1861–1913) was a British nurse, journalist, writer, and activist who trained at the London Hospital under Eva Lückes, earning diplomas in midwifery and hygiene. She authored numerous nursing manuals such as 'How to Become a Nurse and How to Succeed,' 'Health in the Home Life,' and 'The Nurse’s Dictionary of Medical Terms and Nursing Treatment,' alongside fictional works like 'Tales from the Children’s Ward.' A lifelong campaigner, she established the Hoxten Settlement for disabled children, opposed the Boer War, supported prison reform, and advocated as a non-militant suffragist.
