Homer

Homer was an ancient Greek poet traditionally credited with composing the Iliad and the Odyssey, two foundational works of Western literature. Very little is known about his life, and scholars generally place him in the 8th century BCE, likely somewhere in Ionia in or near modern-day Turkey.
