Herbert C. Merillat

Herbert C. Merillat (1915–2010) was an American author and historian known for his unpublished Guadalcanal diaries and the book 'Guadalcanal Remembered,' which documented his experiences as a Marine during World War II. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard as a carpenter during the war and later became a noted chronicler of Marine Corps history.
