Henry Russell Hitchcock

Henry-Russell Hitchcock (1903–1987) was an American architectural historian considered the 'father' of modern architectural historiography and a key figure in bringing modern architecture to the United States. He was an eminent professor for over forty years, training generations of scholars and producing distinguished monographs and articles on a broad range of architectural styles and periods. His writings helped define modernist architecture and coined terms like the International Style.
