Henry Richards 1825-1891 Luard
Henry Richards Luard (1825–1891) was a British medieval historian, antiquary, and university administrator who served as Registrary of the University of Cambridge from 1862 and Vicar of Great St. Mary's from 1860 to 1887.[2][3] Educated at Cheam School, King's College London, and Trinity College, Cambridge, where he graduated fourteenth wrangler in 1847, he edited numerous historical texts for the Master of the Rolls series, earning acclaim for his scrupulous scholarship.[1][2] A high churchman and active parish priest, he died on 1 May 1891 after a period of ill health.[3][6]
