Henry Maudsley
Henry Maudsley (1835–1918) was an English psychiatrist and a leading theorist in the nineteenth-century asylum movement, known for founding the South London and Maudsley Trust hospital. Born near Giggleswick in Yorkshire, he graduated from the University of London and became regarded as the most significant psychiatrist in Britain during the latter half of the 19th century.
