Henry Dalziel

Henry Dalziel was an Australian soldier and Victoria Cross recipient, not known as an author. Born in 1893 in Irvinebank, Queensland, he served with the 15th Battalion during World War I, earning the VC—the 1,000th awarded—for gallantry at the Battle of Hamel in 1918 despite being wounded numerous times. He later worked as a locomotive fireman, farmer, and served in a training role during World War II, dying in 1965.
