Helen Wessel
Helene Wessel (also spelled Helen Wessel) was a German politician and social worker born in Dortmund in 1898 and died in Bonn in 1969. She was the first female party leader in Germany, chaired the Centre Party, co-founded the All-German People's Party, later joined the SPD, and is remembered as one of the four "Mothers of the Basic Law."
