Helen Lepp Friesen

Helen Lepp Friesen is a professor of writing in the Rhetoric, Writing, and Communications department at the University of Winnipeg, where she teaches academic writing, including English as an Additional Language (EAL) and Transition Year Program (TYP) sections.[2][7] She successfully defended her Ph.D. dissertation on everyday culture shock in culturally diverse post-secondary classrooms in 2015 at the University of Manitoba.[3] A descendant of settlers, her father Peter Lepp came to Canada from Ukraine as a refugee in 1918, and she is also known as an author of children's books such as Maple Syrup and a community correspondent for Fort Garry.[1][4][5]
