Harold Bell Wright

Harold Bell Wright (1872–1944) was a best-selling American author and former Christian minister known for his sentimental novels that championed traditional rural values over modern industrialization. He is credited as the first American writer to sell a million copies of a novel and to earn $1 million from writing fiction, with his works like The Shepherd of the Hills inspiring over 15 films.
