Hans-Ludwig Schilling
Hans-Ludwig Schilling (1927–2012) was a German composer, music educator, musicologist, and bassoonist. Born in Mayen, he studied composition with teachers including Harald Genzmer, Paul Hindemith, Nadia Boulanger, Antoine-Elisée Cherbuliez, and Wolfgang Fortner, and later taught composition-theory-musicology at the Hochschule für Musik Nürnberg. His output spans many genres, with particular emphasis on wind music, organ music, and choral music.
