Hans H. Maurer

Hans H. Maurer is a Full Professor of Toxicology and Pharmacology and Head of the Department of Experimental & Clinical Toxicology at Saarland University in Homburg/Saar, Germany. He is renowned for establishing mass spectrometry in clinical and forensic toxicology, authoring numerous papers, review articles, and spectral libraries for GC-MS and LC-MS, which earned him major scientific awards including an honorary doctorate from the University of Ghent in 2007. In 2025, he co-authored the second edition of the influential LC-HR-MS/MS Library of Drugs, Poisons, and Their Metabolites.
