Hans Dieter Betz is a German-American scholar of the New Testament and Early Christianity, long associated with the University of Chicago. His research has been especially influential on Paul’s Letter to the Galatians, the Sermon on the Mount, Greco-Roman rhetoric, and the religious context of early Christianity.
