Hank Lazer
Hank Lazer is an American poet and critic born in San Jose, California, who has been a professor at the University of Alabama since 1977, retiring in 2014 as Professor Emeritus and Associate Provost for Academic Affairs.[1][6] He has published thirty-six books of poetry and is known for his work exploring Jewish identity, Zen Buddhism, and innovative approaches to poetry.[2][4] In 2015, he received the Harper Lee Award, Alabama's highest literary honor, for lifetime achievement in literature.[4]
