Hamish MacInnes
Hamish MacInnes (1930-2020) was a legendary Scottish mountaineer, author, and innovator known as the 'Fox of Glencoe.' He pioneered modern winter climbing techniques, invented the all-metal ice axe and MacInnes stretchers, founded the Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team, and contributed to films like The Eiger Sanction. MacInnes authored 21 books on mountaineering and rescue, and participated in major expeditions including Everest in 1975.
