H. Kent Bowen

Harvey Kent Bowen (1941–2025), also known as H. Kent Bowen, was a pioneering scholar in technology and operations management who served as a professor at MIT and later as the Baker Foundation Professor at Harvard Business School for 15 years until his retirement in 2008[1][2]. He was celebrated for his innovative ceramics research, pioneering work in manufacturing education including founding the Leaders for Manufacturing program, and authored books such as The Perpetual Enterprise Machine[1][3]. Bowen died on July 17, 2025, in Belmont, Massachusetts, at the age of 83[1][4].
