H A DeRosso

H.A. DeRosso, born Henry Andrew DeRosso in Carey, Wisconsin, began writing stories as a teenager and attended Hurley High School, Gogebic Junior College, and the University of Wisconsin before selling his first story, 'Six Gun Saddlemates,' to Western Story Magazine in 1941 after numerous rejections.[2][3] He became a prolific contributor to western pulp magazines, producing dozens of stories annually by the 1950s, and authored five western novels including .44, while also writing for mystery and crime digests like Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine.[1][2][5] His career was cut short by his death in 1960 at age 43, under circumstances possibly involving suicide or accident.[3][4][6]
