Gwendolyn Hooks

Gwendolyn Hooks, born in Savannah, Georgia, is a former seventh-grade math teacher turned children's book author who has published around 20 books, including the NAACP Image Award-winning picture book biography *Tiny Stitches: The Life of Medical Pioneer Vivien Thomas*.
