Gurney

Albert Ramsdell Gurney Jr. (A.R. Gurney or Pete Gurney) was an acclaimed American playwright, novelist, and academic known for plays like 'The Dining Room,' 'Sweet Sue,' 'The Cocktail Hour,' and the Pulitzer finalist 'Love Letters,' which explore upper-class WASP life. He taught at MIT for 36 years from 1960 until retiring in 1996, earning tenure in 1968 and the McDermott Award in 1994. Gurney also authored novels including 'The Snow Ball' and was inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Letters in 2006.[1][3]
