Greg Sarris

Greg Sarris is a renowned Native American author, scholar, and professor who serves as the Tribal Chairman of the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria in Sonoma County, California. He is known for his novels such as 'Grand Avenue' and 'Watermelon Nights,' the latter of which was adapted into an HBO miniseries co-produced by Robert Redford, and for his academic work in Native American literature and creative writing at Sonoma State University. Sarris also oversees the multibillion-dollar Graton Resort & Casino, using gaming revenue to support tribal housing, education, and activism.
