Glanville Price

Glanville Price was a British linguist and French scholar who served as Professor of French at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth from 1972 to 1992, later becoming Research Professor until 1995 and Professor Emeritus thereafter. He was educated at Grammar School in Llandrindod Wells and University College of North Wales, Bangor, followed by research at the Sorbonne, earning a Doctorat de l'Université de Paris in 1956. His notable works include editing the Encyclopedia of the Languages of Europe (1998) and authoring A Comprehensive French Grammar (2003); he passed away on 22 December 2019 at age 91.
