Gladys Mitchell
Gladys Maude Winifred Mitchell (1901–1983) was an English writer best known for creating Mrs. Bradley, a psychiatrist-detective who appeared in 66 detective novels starting with Speedy Death (1929). She taught English, history, and games for 37 years before retiring in 1961, and was an early member of the Detection Club alongside Agatha Christie and Dorothy L. Sayers.
