Giann-Es Ritsos

Giannis Ritsos was a prominent Greek poet and left-wing activist, renowned for his politically charged poetry that reflected the struggles of the Greek people during war and dictatorship. Born in Monemvasia in 1909, he faced personal tragedies, political persecution, and imprisonment, yet continued to write prolifically until his death in Athens in 1990.
