Gertrude Chandler Warner (Creator)
Gertrude Chandler Warner was an American children’s author best known for creating The Boxcar Children series, beginning with the original 1924 novel about four orphaned siblings who make a home in an abandoned boxcar. She also worked as an elementary school teacher for many years before retiring to write full time.
